Alissa Dandrilli, Personal Trainer, received her Athletic Training degree and certification in 2004, and has since worked with a number of professional teams in the area, including the New York Dragons of the Arena Football League, the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse, and the New York Titans of the National Lacrosse League. She also was the Athletic Trainer on the set of the movie “Just Wright”. In 2007, Alissa received her credentials as a Licensed Massage Therapist, and currently works with private clients, as well as the New Jersey Nets of the NBA. She has been working at Body In Balance as a personal trainer for the past 3 years, catering to every level of client from injury rehab to the advanced athlete, utilizing mostly body resistant and functional exercises to help her clients achieve their goals.
Lorraine Moog, Massage Therapist, LMT, has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in the community since 1993. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Oriental Science with a major in professional studies. She is a certified AMMA therapist and a certified Infant Massage Instructor. Lorraine was a Massage Instructor at The New York College for eight years. Her specialty is in medical massage. Other massage modalities include Prenatal Massage, European, Swedish, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue and Reflexology.
Rick Nielsen, Pilates Instructor, PGA, G.S.E.M., developed Power Golf Pilates as a PGA Teaching Professional. After taking Pilates classes to improve a back injury, Rick noticed a marked improvement in his drives and iron shots. He became a Certified Pilates Instructor in 2007 after training at Core Pilates NYC, the premiere Pilates instruction studio in the country. He is the only PGA professional in the country who is also a certified Pilates instructor. His knowledge of both disciplines is invaluable in delivering the highest quality instruction for each and every client regardless of age, fitness levels or skill.
Meghan Pifko, Pilates Instructor, Polestar Pilates Certified (Mat, Studio and Allegro), Kane School Certifying Instructor, is a former professional ballet dancer who developed a passion for Pilates when her chronic knee injuries subsided after implementing a Pilates regimen. She now holds three certifications covering Mat and Apparatus from Polestar Pilates, a method that was developed by Brent Anderson, PhD, PT, OCS. With this science-based training, Meghan works with clients whose needs range from sensitive rehabilitative care to intense athletic cross training. After studying with Kelly Kane, Meghan is now a Certifying Instructor Trainer for The Kane School in NYC where she conducts courses for future Pilates instructors. The Kane School method is unique in blending a modern, clinical, anatomy-based perspective of the body with a focus on the power of the practitioner’s touch and intuition.
Meghan recently completed the Pink Ribbon Instructor Training Program offered by Doreen Puglisi, M.S. The course offered valuable information regarding the diagnosis, treatment, recovery, proper exercise guidelines, and protocols pertinent to women dealing with breast cancer. Mark Plonski, Personal Trainer, is an undergraduate student at Hofstra University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, with plans to continue on to a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Mark received his personal training certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and he continues to attend conferences and seminars regularly. He has experience working with diverse clientele, and has worked extensively with both collegiate and younger athletes. Mark hopes to one day work with athletes of all ages as a strength and conditioning specialist, and physical therapist. Mark enjoys playing golf, mixed martial arts, being outdoors, and being with family during his spare time.
